MWC Barcelona 2025 once again proved to be the epicenter of innovation in the telco, technology, and security industry. Unsurprisingly, AI dominated conversations. For Whalebone, the event was an opportunity to connect with industry leaders, strengthen relationships with partners, and explore the evolving landscape of network security.
Face-to-Face Connections Matter
One of the biggest advantages of attending MWC is meeting partners and customers in person. Over the course of the event, the Whalebone team held over 100 meetings with prospective telco customers, existing partners, and long-term clients. These discussions laid the groundwork for deeper collaboration, market expansion, and more effective product launches. In an industry driven by trust and strategic alignment, these moments of in-person engagement are invaluable.
What the Industry Is Talking About
The conversations at our MWC booth reflected the opportunities for telco business growth when it comes to mass-market, monetizable security. Our AI-powered DNS security was a major focus, along with Whalebone’s additional security layers and features, including Identity Protection, Fraud Call Protection, and content filtering. Beyond the Aura solution for telcos, Whalebone also highlighted its Peacemaker solution for ISPs.
With members of Whalebone’s Product team on the ground, the event also served as an opportunity to gather industry insights firsthand. Market trends, shifting customer needs, and the latest security challenges were all essential inputs that will help shape the next phase of our product development.
As the consortium leader of DNS4EU, Whalebone engaged with European institutions and industry players on this critical project at the MWC.
Leadership Presence
Having both Whalebone’s CEO and CTO at MWC provided significant value as their presence helped engage different types of stakeholders – whether discussing technical aspects with product teams or addressing strategic questions with business leaders. Their involvement also reinforced how important these events are, not just for business development but for shaping the company’s long-term direction.
Looking Ahead
MWC Barcelona 2025 was an opportunity to confirm our findings where the industry is headed and ensure Whalebone stays ahead of the curve. Whether through meaningful conversations, strategic partnerships, or direct market insights, the event reinforced our role as a key player in telco mass-market security which is so seamless and easy to use, being protected becomes a natural part of life.
